Deeply researched, written with controlled passion, this is journalism at its best from Julie. I felt challenged and engaged by every sentence. Nothing remotely like this is ever published in the mainstream media. It is a scandal in journalism. Fundamental changes in how we regard human beings are being implemented by bureaucrats in the main without scrutiny, in the dark, unchallenged and unexplained. Thank goodness for people like Julie.

Michael.. I'm blushing. Thank you. I do agree, of course, about the mainstream press.

Another great article Julie. You must do a hell of a lot of research to put it so clearly.

So kind of you, as always, Carole. It was a fair amount of work, I'll admit, but it was a satisfying piece to write. There's nowhere near enough media scrutiny of government agencies, Commissioners etc.

I hear you Harry! There's something particularly depressing about this one.

Thank you for this amazing article. I agree with Jazz. People I talk to are horrified at what is going on. Most people are ignorant to the facts. The information you are providing is priceless. Thanks.

Thank you Mary. I agree that our government agencies appear to be operating on the assumption that no-one's paying attention, that no-one will take the time to scrutinise their work.

A Sex Discrimination Commissioner who doesn't believe sex is a relevant category ... do I laugh or cry? Mostly I just thank you, Julie, for your customary clear-eyed analysis. Can't tell you how pleased I am that you're doing this

I can tell Petula, and I'm incredibly grateful for your support.

Jenkins is clearly Dreamin’ and opining well beyond any misguided “be kind” sex self ID policy ever passed at National or State Labor Conference. Who cares what a ho hum corporate lady lawyer from Melbourne reckons about sex being a spectrum lolz. Check with Labor voters from Narre Warren, Springvale and Bendigo East what they think about Loretta being eligible for up the duff discrimination protections under looney Labor gender laws! Definitely the vibe of CEDAW & the constitution. We will prevail.

They (the bureaucrats) certainly inhabit a parallel universe, or at least they pretend to.
